Steam IQ

 Utility Metering

Steam traps are ubiquitous mechanical devices that have evolved little in the past 150 years. Their goal is simple: to allow steam to do work via a transfer of latent heat and then allow condensate to drain back to the boiler for reuse. Their failure is difficult to detect, inefficient at best and catastrophic at worst. With a failure rate of 10-30% yearly, detection is critical to steam system performance.

SteamIQ was designed to harness the power of LoRaWAN. Using machineQ’s LoRaWAN network as a service, SteamIQ enables vast facilities to have real time access to steam trap performance. SteamIQ eliminates manual surveys and ensures steam loss is minimized through timely repair.
